Why you should take this course

Learn how to assess GHG emissions of an individual product, either a good or a service, across its entire life cycle – from raw materials through all stages of production (or service provision), distribution, use and disposal/recycling – in accordance with the method specified in the BSI Publicly Available Specification 2050:2011 ‘PAS 2050’.

Who should attend?

This course is especially suitable if you:

  • Have a role or business enterprise designed to support India’s Energy Conservation Act (2001 and 2010 amendment) and associated programs of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency
  • Are involved in energy auditing or thinking of becoming an energy auditor
  • Are involved in energy management or thinking of becoming an energy manager
  • Have a role or business enterprise designed to support work in the green building sector and/or also if you are employed in an organisation (or want to be employed) that:
    • Is measuring supply chain impacts on production or delivery of services
    • Is developing an Integrated Energy Policy
    • Has a requirement to measure, monitor and report the greenhouse gas emissions
    • Is assessing the direct or indirect impact of energy pricing on the organisation
    • Is pursuing a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions for corporate social responsibility objectives, triple/quadruple bottom line or GRI reporting and/or supply chain compliance purposes
    • Is pursuing energy cost reduction initiatives

This course is especially relevant to energy managers, production supervisors, operations managers, procurement and supply chain managers.

What to expect
You can complete the course in face-to-face classroom mode with in class web interface support. The face-to-face program runs 2.5 hours per week for 8 weeks.
Prior to the course you will receive some pre-reading material to aid in the discussion for your first day. Also on the first day, you will receive a Learner Guide (course manual) and assessment workbooks.
During the course you will complete workbook exercises and engage in group discussions on Life Cycle Assessment.
The completion of these workbooks will form part of your final assessment should you choose to gain a Statement of Attainment by completing follow up assessment.
On completion of the classroom based components of the course you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
